

Joseph Sabato Rossi Jr., a devoted family man, proud veteran, and pillar of faith and service, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025 at the age of 91. Born on June 13, 1934, in Keyport, New Jersey, Joseph was the beloved son of Joseph Rossi and Henrietta Amenda Rossi.
He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Rose Marie Rossi; his twin brother, Henry Rossi, and Henry’s wife, Lucy; and his older brother, Tony Rossi, and Tony’s wife, Sylvia. Though he now rests in eternal peace, his legacy continues through the lives he touched and the family he so deeply loved.
Joseph is lovingly survived by his son, Joseph Rossi III, and daughter-in-law, Marilyn Rossi. He was a proud grandfather to Stephanie Nelson, Stacey Valdez and her husband JJ Valdez, Joseph Rossi IV, and William Rossi. His heart was fullest in the presence of his great-grandchildren: Jayden Beaudry, Kierstin Valdez, Evelyn Nelson, and Emily Valdez, who brought him endless joy and pride.
A patriot at heart, Joseph served honorably in the United States Air Force, stationed in Germany following World War II. His commitment to his fellow servicemen endured long after his military service, as he became an active member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8566 in Bacliff, Texas, where he served as Commander for three years. He later continued his dedication to veterans through membership in VFW Post 4395 and American Legion Post 521, both in Pasadena, Texas.
Joseph retired in 1994 after a distinguished 35-year career with Jersey Central Power & Light Company in Sayreville, New Jersey. A proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local #1314, he served as a union officer for 15 years, advocating for the rights and well-being of his fellow workers.
His faith was the cornerstone of his life. Joseph was a devoted parishioner of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Deer Park, Texas, where he served faithfully as a Eucharistic Minister, usher, and active member of the 50+ Club. Earlier in life, he was also a member of the Holy Name Society at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in South Amboy, New Jersey.
A lifelong Knight of Columbus since 1965, Joseph exemplified the values of charity, unity, and fraternity. He held numerous leadership roles, including Grand Knight of Council 3402 and District Deputy for the State of New Jersey. He served on all degree teams and was honored to be the Faithful Navigator of the St. Joseph Assembly, 4th Degree #0679, in Keyport, New Jersey. He remained an active member of St. Hyacinth Council #10574.
Joseph will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to faith, family, and country. His legacy of service, strength, and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 20th from 5:00PM-8:00PM at Grand View Funeral Home. A Celebration of Mass will be Friday, November 21st at 10:00AM at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. Immediately following, he will be laid to rest at Grand View Memorial Park.
