Joy Lee Michaels, 87 passed away February 2, 2016 in Deer Park, Texas. She was born on October 8, 1928 in Corsicana, Texas to Russell and Virginia Gober. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James Michaels, her parents Russell and Virginia Gober, her sister and brother in law Tony and Lovie Mistretta, and her son in law Larry Southworth. She is survived by her son Eddie Lollar and wife Judy, and daughter Debbie Southworth. Her grandchildren Troy Freeman and wife Wendy, Richard Freeman, Christin Baker and husband John, Lori Weed and husband John; great-grandchildren, Chris Freeman, Ashley Freeman, Tommy Freeman, Brooklyn Baker and one great-great grandchild Erynn Freeman. Joy was a sweet loving mother and grandmother who devoted her time to her husband and family. She enjoyed her exercise class of 30 years, shopping, cooking family meals and all of the holidays with the family. Her name represented her personality because she brought joy and sunshine to our family. Her energy was contagious. She was special to each of us and will be greatly missed. Viewing will be held at Grand View Funeral Home on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 11:30 to 12:30 and services following at 12:30.
