Keith Lynn Parr, born on January 17, 1954 in Galveston, Texas to Kenneth & Marian Parr, passed away on July 9, 2018 in Houston, Texas at the age of 64. He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Parr, Sr. Survivors include his mother, Marian Parr; brother, Ken Parr, Jr.; brother & sister-in-law, Kirk and Denise Parr; sister & brother-in-law, Monica and Larry Drake. Keith is also survived by two uncles, four nieces of which he was very fond, as well as other grandnieces and a nephew, and a great great niece.

Keith was a 1972 graduate of Deer Park High School, and retired from Dow Chemical after many years of dedicated employment. He held special memories of his dog “Ivan” and was a devoted dad to his cat “Booger”. The one past time Keith liked more than watching Marilyn Monroe and The Three Stooges - was to be out and about on his Harley - when he could do so.

Keith dedicated and sacrificed – putting the needs of his parents first, and committing himself as a caretaker for his father Kenneth, prior to his death in 2015. After his father’s death, he continued on to be a caretaker to his precious mother, Marian.

In lieu of flowers, and to continue the valiant battle against cancer, the family encourages those desiring to make charitable donations in Keith’s memory to the “Rose Foundation” of which Keith held a special place in his heart and did charitable work when possible. The Rose – Southeast, 12700 N. Featherwood, Suite 260, Houston, Texas 77034

A memorial service honoring Keith's life will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 12:30 PM at Grand View Funeral Home Chapel. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.grandviewfunerals.com for the Parr family.

I met Keith while working at Rohm and Haas. He and I entered into the electric shop in 1990. His work ethic, humor, and concern for his Union brothers and sisters made it a pleasure for me to work along side him. When he and I retired we became closer friends and played a lot of golf and other activities together. I can honestly say he was my friend and I will miss him for the rest of my life. RIP Old Friend

Darrell & I were very saddened when we heard about Keith. He was not only a wonderful neighbor, but a good friend and was always willing to help us out with anything electrical that needed doing. He always had a funny story to tell. It’s hard driving by his home and thinking about him no longer being there. We feel lucky to have had such a helpful & kind neighbor. We are certainly going to miss him. We’re keeping his family in our prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear of Keith's passing. He was always on the the "absolute coolest cousin ever" list. Hoping you all find peace and comfort, and know that you're in my thoughts during this sad time.

Keith was a wonderful, dependable and always helpful coworker. He was our union president and showed talent as a natural-born leader. His guidance and advice were always valued. He showed a genuine interest in concerns expressed by others and acted on them when appropriate.

My deepest condolences to Keith's family and friends.
