Kent worked in the stainless steel distribution industry for over 40 years. Raised in the family business, he joined full time after college, mastered every facet of the trade, and later opened his own stainless company.
Kent found his greatest joy in his family and in the simple pleasures of the Texas lifestyle he loved. Golfing with friends, fishing whenever he could steal a weekend, tracking every NASCAR and Formula One race, and never missing a Longhorns game. Kent was happiest of all, lounging on the beach with the sand between his toes, a cold drink in his hand, and the sound of waves rolling in.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Taylor, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Kent is survived by his devoted wife, Beverly Taylor; son Zachary Taylor; step-daughter Tiffany Jarrett; cherished granddaughters Rorie and Remie; mother Carla Rena and step-father Joe Rena, Jr.; sister Sabrena Austin and brother-in-law Daryl Austin; nephews Cole and Colin Austin; and a large extended family of cousins, in-laws, and lifelong friends.
Hook ’em forever, Kent. Rest easy, preferably on a beach chair somewhere with the tide coming in.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 2:00PM at Grand View Funeral Home, located at 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas, 77505.
