Larry Paul Motte, born on April 25, 1964, in Groves, Texas, passed away on May 25, 2025, at the age of 61. He was a beloved son, brother, partner, and friend—remembered for his warmth, kindness, and the quiet strength he brought to every part of his life.
Larry is survived by his loving mother, Deborah; his brother, Kenneth; his sisters, Holly and Wendy; and his cherished nephew, Dakota.
He is lovingly remembered by his best friend of 40 years, Tony, and his devoted partner of 30 years, Paula , who stood by his side with unwavering love and support. Larry is also fondly remembered by his extended family and close family friends, Jennifer and Jessica, along with their children—Travis, Taylor, and Evan—who were like grandchildren to him and brought him great joy.
Larry passed away alongside his beloved grandchild, Ryan, whose presence brought light and laughter to his life. Their passing is a profound loss, and they will be remembered together with love and deep affection.
Larry was known for his incredible patience—a steady, calming presence in the lives of those around him. Whether offering a listening ear, teaching a skill, or quietly supporting someone through a hard time, Larry never rushed, never judged, and always made space for others to feel heard and cared for. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years, both on active duty and in the reserves. Larry was a passionate pilot with a love for the skies, sharing that joy with pilots around the world as part of Rockwell Commander Owners Group. He enjoyed travel, including Cozumel and Florida, where he spent many summers with friends and family. Larry was a schedule/planner at INEOS Styrolution and inspired his co-workers with his experience as an instrument and electrical expert. Larry graduated with his associates of Science in Instrument and Electronics from the San Jacinto College.
Beyond his dedication to family and service, Larry was a lifelong Star Wars fan. He could be found early in the morning rewatching the entirety of Star Wars Saga. On May 25th, he joined the stars—and one can only imagine he did so with a lightsaber in hand and a grin worthy of a true Jedi.
A memorial celebration of Larry's life will be held at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas, on June 20, 2025, starting at 2:00 PM.
In honor of Larry’s generous spirit and lifelong desire to help others, the family requests that donations be made to Angel Flight South Central, organization close to his heart, providing free air transportation for people in need of medical care far from home.
Larry’s legacy of compassion, patience, loyalty, and service lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him.
