Larry Dale Spence

On Tuesday May 2, 2023 Larry Dale Spence passed away after 6 months of being in and out of the hospital. Larry was 66 years old. Larry was born December 29, 1956 in Pasadena Texas to Aldis Ray (AR) and Ruth Pauline Wuneburger Spence. He is survived by his sister Paula Spence Jaynes & husband Larry, Uncle AJ Wuneburger & Aunt Barbara ,Niece Staci Spence Franke & husband Logan. Great Niece Kylee Retzlaff, Great Nephew Tanner Retzlaff (Tater Head), Adopted daughter Jenna Nash.

Cousins,David Spence & wife Susan, Charles (Bunk) Spence & wife Sue, Jennifer Spence Jones Debbie Spence McClure & husband Shea, Troy Spence, Wayne McPhaul, Sharon McPhaul, Scott McPhaul, DeWayne Wuneburger & wife Jane, Deborah Wuneburger Killough & husband Kyle, numerous second cousins. He always bought Christmas presents for them. He was a Toys R Us kid at heart. 2 3rd baby cousins Baby Jubilee Ruth & Baby Bryson.

Larry attended Red Bluff Elementary, Southmore Jr High & Pasadena High School. Graduating in 1975. During high school Larry had numerous jobs. After graduation Larry attended San Jacinto College with hopes to be a lawyer. He would have been an excellent lawyer. He decided to become a Union Boilermaker like his Dad and Granddad; He was a Journeyman, former President of Local #74 Dad & Larry worked jobs together in town and also traveled out of the state. Larry retired after 35 years of service. After retiring Larry rescued Lady. Larry loved her very much. Larry enjoyed making trips to the casino. Larry and his mom also traveled to various state parks. Larry was a Proud Texan and Union Proud.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents Aldis Spence & Ruth Spence, and oldest brother Alan Ray Spence

A very special thanks to long time best friends Bobby Nash & wife Teresa and their daughter Kellie Carson and 2 granddaughters Ella & Avery. Also another very special thanks to Axil and his parents Helle and Keith for taking care of Larry's dog.

A visitation for Larry will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hugh Wilson Cemetery, 1075 Co Rd 456, Lexington, TX 78947.
