Lavern Williams

Lavern Williams went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 19, 2014. She was born in Joaquin, Tx on Sept. 9, 1925 to Henry & Mary Cox. Lavern married Raymond “Bo” Williams on August 4, 1945 and they were married 60 years until his passing on Sept. 11, 2005. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, sister and one granddaughter, Donna Strong. She is survived by her three children, Judy Allen & husband Bill, Danny Williams & wife Marla and Ronnie Williams & wife Sherrie, as well as grandchildren David White, Phillip Williams, Carl Williams, Deann Kaiser, Jana Martin and Shastine Allen, plus numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Lavern retired after working for 21 years for Deer Park ISD in Food Services. She was a faithful member of Broadway Church of Christ in La Porte, TX. She loved making quilts for her family and friends, leaving them with many loving memories. Aside from spending time in God’s Word, she most loved cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She leaves a legacy of a true Christian woman, wife, mother and friend. The family wishes to thank the caretakers from At Your Side, as well as the staff at Vitas Hospice for their loving care of our mother during her last few months on this earth. Visitation will be Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 5PM to 7PM at Grand View Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 2PM at Grand View Funeral Home.
