

Lynn was born in Jacksonville, Texas, but raised in Deer Park where he graduated from Deer Park High School. He served as a specialist in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he was awarded an Army Commendation Medal for acts of valor. In 1971, Lynn married Donna, and they spent the next 44 years raising a family and making countless memories together.
Lynn spent most of his career working as an operator at refineries like Diamond Shamrock, Oxy, Aristech, BASF, and Exxon Mobil. When he wasn’t working, he cherished spending time with his family. He supported his kids by coaching little league baseball and softball teams. Eventually his coaching turned into cheering from the stands at select softball games. He also loved to watch Star Wars and made many trips to Great Wolf Lodge and the Galvestonian with his grandkids. Lynn was an active member of First Baptist Church of Deer Park where he made many lifelong friends. He loved drag racing, hot rods, and classic cars. He also loved Elvis and Rock-n-Roll music.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Allie Bone “Pete” Gibson and Althea Mildrid Stovall, wife, Donna Faye Gibson, and brother, Bruce Wayne Gibson.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Maxey; son, Kyle Gibson and wife, Brandi, daughter, Keri Beard and husband, Ernie, and step-children and spouses, Francis Largent and Curtis Tucker, Betty and Jeremy Milliken, Emily Nathan, and Edward and Maile Maxey in addition to brothers, Thomas and Ray Gibson and their families and sister-in-law, Diane Naski. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Reese Gibson, Kyla and Allie Campbell, and Ernie and Justin Beard, and step-grandchildren Roger and Jacob Cady, Brayden Milliken, Kingston Alexander, and Emilea, Robert, and Naomi Maxey.
A visitation will be held at Grand View Funeral Home, located at 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505, on June 19, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral service will take place at the same venue on June 20, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
The committal will follow at Grand View Funeral Home on June 20, 2025, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
