

Lorenzo was born on July 10th, 1944 in San Bonito, Texas to Lorenzo and Enriqueta Olivares Sr. He later moved to DePue, Illinois to raise his children and work as a maintenance person at a large mining and gas company. He moved back to Texas in 1988 where he spent the remainder of his life. Lorenzo was happily married to Maria Elena Olivares, his wife of nearly 57 years, when he passed.
Lorenzo is survived by his mother; his wife; his nine children and their spouses; Jose (Crista) Olivares, Patricia (Marciano) Banuelos, Maria (David) Ferrari, Amelia Olivares, Lorenzo III (Stacy) Olivares, Angelina (Don) Olivares-Gaddis, Lucio (Billie Jo) Olivares, Alisa (Yrael) Olivares-Morales, and Roberto Olivares; as well as his son through marriage, Jesse (Edward) Shaughnessy; his twelve siblings; eighteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
In his free time, Lorenzo enjoyed spending time with his family, taking care of his dogs, singing for anyone who would listen, and cheering on his favorite sports teams, especially when his grandchildren were on the field. All who met Lorenzo knew him for his infectious sense of humor and friendly nature. Lorenzo was always the first to greet his loved ones and the longest to say goodbye. He reached innumerable people with his warmth. He will be deeply missed and will live on through those who were close to him.
Family and friends are invited to attend Lorenzo’s visitation on Thursday, June 24th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Grand View Funeral Home located at 8501 Spencer Highway Pasadena, TX 77505. Funeral and burial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 25th in Grand View Memorial Park.
