Margaret Patricia Babin

Her parents, Joe and Mozelle Tackett Wheat, moved to Channelview, TX in her 3rd year. She lived there until her marriage to Robert B. Babin in 1955. She worked as Secretary to the Director of Athletics and retired from Deer Park ISD in 1994.

She was a member of Monument Baptist Church in Deer Park, TX, formerly Thomas Avenue Baptist Church in Pasadena, TX. As a child/teen she attended First Assembly of God in Channelview, TX and accepted Christ as her savior.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mozelle Wheat; her infant brother, Joe Allen; her youngest brother, Joe H. Wheat; her beloved husband of 54 years, Bob Babin; her grandson, Heath Babin; her son-in-law, Bob Holman; her daughter-in-law, Dwana Babin and many other dear friends and family members.

Pat is survived by her son, Craig Babin; her daughter, Kelly Babin Holman; her youngest granddaughter, Lacey Holman; her eldest granddaughter, Amy Babin LaRue, her husband, Aaron LaRue, and his daughter Jacquelyn LaRue; her great-grandson, Jaxon Babin and his mother, Julie Babin Kenney; her brother, James (Jim) Wheat and his wife, Barbara Wheat; her companion and best friend F. Junior Underwood and numerous other loved ones.

Pat (Mamaw) was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was very involved with her church family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her loved ones. She was universally loved and admired. She was a beacon of light in our darkest moments. She was everyone’s Mamaw, and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing at 10:00 A.M. with a Celebration of Pat's life beginning at 11:00 A.M. February 6, 2025 at Monument Baptist Church, 3602 East Blvd, Deer Park, TX 77536. Immediately following, she will be laid to rest at Grand View Memorial Park 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505.
