Celebrating the life of Martha Y. Martinez
Martha was born on January 31, 1961 in Eagle Pass, Texas to Leonel Martinez and Ernestina Sanchez. Martha resided in Galveston, Texas and Houston, Texas. She received her high school diploma from Houston Technical Institute. After working in customer service, she went back to school, Houston Community College, and received an Associates in Accounting. This accomplishment was a milestone for Martha. She actually was promoted to the Accounting Department at AFH, where she first worked as an accountant. Afterwards, she worked as an accountant at MLN and Perry Homes.
Martha believed in God, prayed and confessed only to him. She had many various interests including sewing, painting, cooking, and baking. She sold many masks to her friends and co-workers. She likes to paint furniture, too. Martha is preceded in death by her parents. Those left to treasure her memory are her older sister, Irma J. Martinez; her boyfriend of 20 years Armando Verde; her special friends Maria Saenz, Fabian Gonzalez, and Felipe Patino; and her many friends from AFH, MLN, and Perry Homes.
My LIttle Sister
My little sister is always there when you need her. My little sister is the best little sister ever and I would not trade her for anything. My little sister has a way of making everyone laugh when they have a bad day.
My little sister is one of a kind My little sister is annoying, too but I still love her anyways. My little sister is also my best friend.
Dedicated to my sister, Martha, I love you forever!

I have had the pleasure of knowing Martha for several decades first meeting her at AFH where we became fast friends. She was always in movement, always doing something and always creating laughter and mischief wherever she was! She always had a good story to share. Martha was at all the AFH Toy Drives helping pick up toys. She and I enjoyed a naughty sense of humor and had so many laughs together. She was unforgettable...funny, kind, compassionate. She was a force of nature. I loved her dearly and will miss her more than I can say. My sincere condolences to Irma, Armando and Maria and all those whose lives Martha touched. I have no doubt that she is organizing a gambling trip in heaven and getting into good trouble. James and I love you forever Martha.

We will remember Martha for her sense of humor and laughter. We couldn't help but laugh at her jokes every time she told them. She was also a creative person and very talented seamstress. We were lucky enough to benefit from her talents through out the years and even getting the masks she made for the pandemic.
Irma, you have our deepest sympathies and prayers.
Martha will always be remembered, may she rest in peace.

Although I have not had the pleasure of meeting you, I feel like I know you from my visits with Martha at work. She was always so gracious and willing to help, and I always left our visits with a smile. She was a delight to be around! I remember her sharing the story with me about the ring she purchased when she was on a cruise with you. It was beautiful, and she was so proud of it. May God comfort you during this very difficult time. Please know how very much Martha loved you!

Dearest Irma, I will miss your beautiful sister so much. Martha was an amazing teller of stories. She shared so many, many memories with me in recent months and her favorites all included you. Martha was so full of life and happiness. She brightened my day with her fashionable wardrobe and her bright lipstick the last 4 years and recently all of her beautifully sewn designer masks! Her big laugh and beautiful smile will never leave my heart. I am thankful for knowing her and grateful for the time you so graciously shared with me. I will keep you close in my prayers always...May God comfort you during this time.
