Growing up, Eddy loved super heroes, Speed Racer and Star Wars. He loved his family and his dogs, and his dream was to play professional football and take care of his mom like his hero Earl Campbell from the Houston Oilers. He loved Fords, motorcycles and the Houston Texans. He loved kids, and they loved him, and he also loved to play golf. He attended South Houston High School and graduated in 1993, and he earned both a football and academic scholarship to Kansas Wesleyan University. He earned his Associate’s of Applied Science in Instrumentation Technology in 2008 and worked for Agrifos and Lyondell Chemical. His title at Lyondell Chemical Company was Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician. He was also doing the job of the Supervisor of Analyzers, a title he would have when the current Supervisor retired. This was his dream job.
Those who knew Eddy, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. His bear hugs, his unique crooked smile, and his great sense of humor will be missed. The world was better with Eddy in it, and his absence will leave a space that will remain until his Heavenly reunion with those who loved him.
Eddy is survived by his mother, Debra Diane Blanton, his father Michael Edward Boike, Sr. and his wife Suzi, his sister Sandy Boike and her wife Evonne, step brother Daniel Cordell and his wife Melissa, Godson Tanner Gene Basinski, grandfather Ben Boike, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by grandmother Dolores Jean Vyrol, grandfather James Lawrence Blanton, Sr., grandmother Ruth Pearl Blanton, and grandmother Bobbie Faye Boike.
