Michael Lynn Lewis, 72, went home to be with his heavenly father on May 18, 2024. He passed away at home with his family near his side. Mike was born in Pasadena on February 8, 1952 to Norman and Eva Lewis. Mike was married to his beloved wife Brenda Lewis for 51 years.
He greatly enjoyed working at Lubrizol for 36 years, where he met his lifelong friends. Mike was always fun to be with and around. He truly knew how to light up a room. As most of you know, Mike was a people person and loved making people laugh. He never met a stranger. If the store clerk wasn't smiling when he walked up, more than likely she'd have a smile on her face by the time Mike paid his bill. He always wanted to give someone a smile and brighten up their day. Mike was always wanting to have fun. He started playing baseball at age 6, using his glove to swat the bugs flying under the outfield lights. Later on he became a pitcher, and that became one of his favorite things to do. He absolutely loved baseball. Mike also had a passion for fishing since he was very young. He loved any kind of fishing but especially out on the water in his boat. He enjoyed many trips to Canyon Lake skiing on the water with friends and family. Later on when the kids and grandkids came along they all continued to enjoy the lake with him. Mike was very adventurous and always wanted to travel with his friends and family. He loved traveling, sight-seeing and taking pictures of every spot he stopped at. He always wanted to go on adventures. Quite a few years ago, Mike went on a camping trip to Colorado with his parents and Norma and Roy. He insisted they went on many back roads looking for gold in the streams and beaver damns in the pond. Although they didn't come home rich with gold, they had so much fun and made great memories. Mike was also a brilliant man. He knew how to do everything and there was never a question he didn't know the answer to. He was always eager to learn new things. He always loved helping people and teaching them as well. Mike also always had a strong love for dogs, and his latest dog Sugar, was his baby. They did everything together and if she wasn't sitting in Mikes lap, she was laying in her very own recliner that he called "Sugars chair". Mike raised his sons, Jeff and Bryan, but also raised his granddaughters, Kayden, Karlie, and River. That is what he loved most. Spending time with his family and keeping us all laughing and loving. Mike was the most loving and caring man you'd ever meet, and definitely the funniest. Mike was loved and cherished by everyone who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Norman and Eva Lewis of Pasadena and Brother Larry Lewis of Deer park. As well as his mother-in-law Leota Walker of Pasadena and brother-in-law Charles Walker of Pasadena.
