Michael " Mike" Joe Browning

Michael Joe Browning was born on November 20, 1951, in Dayton, Ohio, to George Browning Sr. and Joanne Staggs Browning. Mike graduated from Northwest High School in McDermott, Ohio. He was married for over 40 years to Kathy Tyree Browning. They were very family oriented and enjoyed camping for many years with their children and grandchildren. Mike had a love for the outdoors as well as “tinkering” around the house and took great pride in all he did. Mike retired from the Chemical Industry after 35 years of service and was also a Fire Instructor at Texas A&M University. Mike is also a retired Captain of the La Porte Fire Department Station 4, and took great pride in serving his community for 13 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Browning of over 40 years of marriage; daughter, Stephanie Edwards and husband D.J; son, Jason Browning and wife Julia; grandchildren, Elizabeth Edwards, Jake Edwards, Natalie Edwards, Kaden Tucker, Kendall Tucker, and Michael Browning; sister, Sharon Goddard; and brother George Browning Jr. Mike is predeceased by parents, George Browning Sr. and Joanne Browning. The family will receive friends for the viewing from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Grand View Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Grand View Funeral Home with the burial following at Cedarcrest Cemetery in Baytown, TX.
