Pat, my family and I were so sad to hear of your loss. Your sister and I talk every once in a while and she told me. Hoping you find some comfort in knowing how much everyone loved Mike. I, personally, did not get the privilege of meeting/knowing him, but it is very apparent by all the many, many postings here that he was quite a beautiful person. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. God be with you.

Pat, Sharon and Jason,
My heart is saddened for your loss and my prayers are with you. May you find peace and comfort in the memories you shared.

Always quick with a quip, Mick made us laugh and was fun to be around. He also had a very giving and generous nature. He is truly missed, but forever in our hearts.

It was a pleasure to have met you. It was nice to put a picture to the face they say. Just one time in KBR Houston 2006. Thank you for the help you have extended during my term in KBR. AP Uploads etc. Though we are both not in there anymore but your legacy remains. I will always remember the late nights and your early mornings while I was there in KBR Dubai to sort out system issues. The people still benefit on this legacy. Thank you and may you rest in peace. May your family and friends find peace and comfort. God Bless!

I have had the pleasure in working and knowing Mike for 10+ yrs here at KBR. In the beginning he was my computer geek repair guy whenever I had computer problems. I too received a huggable teddy from him for my 1st born that will always be treasured. Very funny, energetic and all around great guy who will truly be missed.
My condolensces go out to the family.

Mike, what great memories you will leave with me. The 2-3 suited in poker will always be called the SHURTLEFF SPECIAL. I could always count on you when Wayland was gone to come over and help me. I can still hear you saying "what you up to gal"? You will be greatly missed.

Mike was my brother, not blood, but spirit. We met in college, then lived together for a year as roommates. Both of us married around the same time and had kids the same age. We hiked, camped, fished, played poker, attended concerts, New Years Parties, birthdays, car shows, rebuilt fences, worked on cars, and roofed houses together. We did a lot together and it was not enough. He was everything a friend could be. A piece of everyone one of us is gone. Goodbye my friend, my brother.

I had the pleasure of working with Mike at KBR for a short while during his time in the IT department, whenever you ran into Mike he always greeted you with a smile,he always had time to help someone or just stop what he was doing and chat for a minute no matter how busy he was. A great guy that will be missed.

I have worked on and off with Mike for about the past 10 years at KBR. He was a great guy and no matter how many dumb questions I asked him he'd always take time to answer them patiently and with a smile. He had a great sense of humor and disposition. I'll always remember that Mike gave me a huge stuffed bear for my baby shower when I was pregnant with my daughter and I always think of him when I see it. My prayers are with his family and friends, I know that he will be greatly missed.

Compared to most, I have only known Mike a relatively short time. He began coming with Mike Rynearson to the Gulf Coast GTOs club meetings and events a few years back, and immediately pitched right in to help.
In that short amount of time I came to realize what a special person he was. Never have I met anyone with a more positive outlook and attitude, always willing to help out at a moments notice. And never was there a task that he would not attempt, always successfully.
His family and friends have lost their rock here on Earth, but know he is still your rock watching out for you from heaven. I pray you allow God to give you His comfort and strength at this time and always.
