She was born in San Antonio, Texas, February, 11, 1925 to the late Harry Edgar and Bertha Mae (Miller) Armstrong. She resided in Pasadena, TX and New Caney, TX. She was co-owner with Clyde A. Bairfield of Bairfield Sand Co. until his death at which time David A. Bairfield took over the company.
She is preceded in death by spouses, I.O. Thornton and Clyde A. Bairfield, Brother, Edgar O. Armstrong and Sister, Elsie Faye Monk.
She is survived by her brother, Norman L. Armstrong; children, Paul R. Thornton; Norma F. (Bobby) Elliott; John A. (OakSun) Thornton; Brenda A. (Paul) Jarvis; David A. Bairfield; Susan M. (Gary) Reynolds. Three generations of grand-children, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Grand View Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at 12:30 p.m. at Grand View Memorial Park in Pasadena, Texas.
