

Nancy Mae Horton passed away on January 17, 2011 in Pasadena, TX at the age of 74. She was born on October 29, 1936 in Memphis, TN to the union of Albert and Wilma Holley. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; and 1 sister, Mary Dubbs. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Herman H. Horton; 5 children, Holley Hermenitt and her husband Randy, and Paula Clendenin and her husband Therman; Donald Horton and his wife Earlene, Debbie Crume and her husband Tim, and Jack Horton and his wife Debra Lee; 7 grand children; 5 brothers and sisters, Kenneth Holley, Esther (Sunny) Welch, Jim Holley, Ruby (Suzie) Peterson, and Shelia Alsup; as well as numerous other extended family members and friends.
Nancy grew up in Memphis and came to live in the greater Houston-Pasadena area 50 years ago. She was employed with Southwestern Bell Telephone as an operator for 36 years and was a member of the retirement group Telephone Pioneers of America. Nancy was an active member of her community and participated in many organizations such as Harris County Senior Activity Center, Singing Seniors, AARP, Prime Timers, Keenagers, Vista Care Center (Bingo) and Memphis Eastern Star. She was a supporter of the Republican Party and member of the Texas Republican Delegates. Nancy became a member of First United Methodist Church of Pasadena two years ago where she took pride in teaching Sunday school. She had a giving and loving heart and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Grand View Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. in The Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home on Monday, January 24, 2011 with interment to follow in Grand View Memorial Park.
