Patricia Ann Bland, 63, walked into the presence of the Lord on January 14, 2013 in Houston, TX. Born on July 5, 1949 in Crowley, Louisiana to Olidie and Margaret Abshire Sr., Pat was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Karyn Danise Day. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Dr. Terry Bland; parents, Olidie and Margaret Abshire Sr.; son, Joseph Bland and wife Kristin; sister, Beth and husband James Branson; brother, O.J. Abshire Jr. and wife Veda, and 4 grandchildren, Arden, Zane, Maddox, and Minxia Bland. Pat's children and grandchildren brought tremendous joy to her life. She loved being a mother, Nana and wife. Loving life, loving people, and giving to those she loved defined Pat's life and character. A remarkable person, she is and will be dearly missed. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Grand View Funeral Home on Thursday, January 17, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at South Main Baptist Church, 4300 E. Sam Houston Pkwy. South Pasadena, TX 77505.
