It is with great sadness that we announce Patty L. Holthaus of 93 years, passed away October 31, 2019. Patty was born in Des Moines, Iowa on March 20, 1926. Raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Patty was known to all who loved her as Mom, Patches, Aunt Patty, Grandma, and Great Grandma. While working as a switch board operator for South Western Bell, she met Bob, the love of her life. They were able to share their love with each other for 60 years. Patty is survived by her son, Michael; daughter, Alice; daughter-in-law, Patricia; three grandchildren, Tamara and husband Bryan Smith, Ashley and husband Quincy Fain, Jordan and wife Amy Holthaus; six great grandchildren Aaron, Adam, Peyton, Ashtyn, Corbin, and Emily; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Bob; sisters, Alice “Doodie”, Betty, Virginia, and her brother Lawrence David, “Budge”. Her passion for her community was obvious through the joy she showed while tutoring for Deveraux and ESOL with the Salvation Army. She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi, Chapter Xi Zeta Eta sorority. She lived life to the fullest with a lot of love and laughter.

I remember that every time I would see her, when I would have to leave, I would give her like a hundred kisses and hugs. I still remember her smell even though she is gone. I will really miss her and I give all my sorrows to My family, myself, and everyone who knew and loved her.
