Philip Miles Cannon, 95, was born November 29, 1923 in Hugo, Alabama and passed to his eternal life on September 18, 2019. He is preceded in death by his parents and his great granddaughter, Kira Evelyn Erickson. He leaves behind the family he was so proud of — he loved his family - his wife Opal of 73 years, son Mike & wife Patty; daughter Gayle Erickson & husband Glen; son Dale & wife Lisa; grandchildren Todd (wife Courtney); Trent (wife Andrea); Kurt; Ben (wife Laney); Charley; and Ava (husband Dave). He also loved his great grandchildren - Mason, Miles, Eloise, Madeleine, and Lincoln.
Philip loved life and he never met a stranger. His passion was life - he grew up in Alabama, served in the Army- Air Corp, did everything from farming, retail, appliance repair, oil field, and finished his career of many years in the space program. He moved his family across the country and back a few times - the stories we could tell! After they wed in Texas in January 1946, Opal and Phil moved to Chicago for school and then back home to Alabama where Mike & Gayle were born. A few years later the family moved to Texas where Dale was born. In 1960 Philip joined the space program and moved the family from Earth, Texas to Colorado, California, Kansas, back to Colorado, to Mississippi - and finally in 1967 to Deer Park, Texas.
This great man loved life! In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity and remember him with love.
