Ray Vernon Allen

He was born November 27, 1927, in Ennis Texas to Forrest A. Allen and Annie May Clark Allen. Ray served with the 82nd Airborne with the U.S. Army Post World War II. Interestingly he was stationed in Benito Mussolini's Castle. He was married to his beloved Peggy Joyce Allen for 53 loving years. He retired from Shell Oil Company after 41 years of service. He had a passion for any type of sports, sweets, newspapers, and family. He was a long time of resident of La Porte and a member of Bayshore Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his cherished wife Peggy Joyce Allen, his Parents Forrest and Annie May Allen and all of his four brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by his devoted children Debra and Lloyd Perkins, Larry and Suzanna Allen, Mark and Angie Allen. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Chris and Amy Perkins, Brian and Meesh Perkins, Jeffrey Allen and fiancé Sabrina Powell-Dampier, Kristen Allen, Franklin Parra and Aleona Radionova, Gustavo Parra and Adriana Guerrero, Joanna Parra and Luigi Hernandez. He is further survived by his great grandchildren: Hadley Perkins, Carter Perkins, Elliot Perkins, Edie Perkins, Eleanor Perkins, Brenden Allen, Peyton Herod, Cannon Allen, Maximo Hernandez, and Olivia Parra. He is also survived by numerous other relatives, his many church friends, and other loved ones in the area.

The viewing will be held at Grand View Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday June 19, 2025. Services will be held at 10 a.m. at Bayshore Baptist Church Friday, June 20, 2025 officiated by Paul Chapel with Hospice. Lunch will immediately follow the services in the Church’s gym and is provided by Bayshore Baptist Church and Grand View Funeral Home. The Internment will follow lunch at 1 p.m. at Grand View Memorial Park Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Larry Allen, Mark Allen, Lloyd Perkins, Brian Perkins, Chris Perkins, Jeff Allen. Brenden Allen and Britton Phillips will be honorary pallbearers.
