

Robert John Biehunko was born Feb.14, 1937 in Shiner, Texas, to John L & Eleanor Biehunko who 0both preceded him in death as well as his brother Wardell Biehunko. Bob was raised in Victoria, Texas and attended St. Joseph high school Brothers of St. Mary and graduated in 1955. He then attended Victoria College until 1957 graduating with an Associates of Arts Degree. From 1957 – 1963 Bob was in the U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet. He held positions of Petty Officer 3rd Class personnel man with clerical & administrative duties on the USS Tortuga LSD-26 and the USS Oak Hill LSD-7 for 3-1/2 yrs., and shore duty at naval station San Diego, California for 1-1/2 yrs. He spent 4 yrs. on active duty and two years inactive duty with U.S. Naval reserve and was honorably discharged Jan. 20, 1965.
While serving in the naval reserve Bob attended Marynook Noviate in Gailsville, Wisc. Aug. 1963- Aug. 1964. He then went to St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas from Aug. 1964 – Jan.1965.
Bob moved to Houston, Texas in 1965 and began working for Texas Marine Industrial Supply. In 1972, he went to work for Champion Paper mill in Pasadena, TX later known at Simpson Paper Co. He worked as a Maintenance Planner/Supervisor and retired in 1994.
Bob is survived by wife Jo Ann, son Roy Atkinson, sisters Ann St. Julian of Victoria and Mary Kay Chaney of McEwen, TN and special acknowledgement to sister-in-law Barbara Williams who he dearly loved, as well as many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. A funeral service will follow in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Bob will be laid to rest at Oaklawn Cemetery in Rockdale, TX on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 12:00 p.m.
