Roseanne Marie (Zemer) Anderson of La Porte, TX., entered eternal rest on Friday, July 19th due to complications from dementia at age 73. Born in Texas City, TX. on April 7th, 1951 to LeRoy and Sarah Zemer, Roseanne loved her birth-city and had a deep connection to the Texas City Disaster of 1947, and the history of Texas City. She was a proud classmate of Our Lady of Fatima School and retained many close-knit friends from that school. Later in life, she moved to Pasadena, TX, and graduated from Sam Rayburn High School.
Roseanne was married to her best friend/husband Randy Anderson for 33 fun-filled years.
She is survived by her immediate family: husband Randy, son Ryan (and his wife, Rhiannon), daughter Sarah Pace (and her husband, Chris), and Maggie, the family dog. Roseanne is also survived by her sisters: Karen Martin (and her husband, Russell, and sons, Noah and Daniel) and Sharon Snell (and husband, Homer), her brother, Lee Zemer (and his wife, Becky, and sons Andrew and Christopher), and many, many cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, her grandparents, and many matriarchal “aunts”.
Roseanne’s Italian and French heritage combined to make for some great cooking; in fact, God likely needed a great seafood gumbo recipe, so he called Roseanne up to Heaven to help. She had a legendary sweet disposition that gave her a passion for making people around her feel comfortable, loved, and well-fed. Maybe to a fault, she never met a stranger. Roseanne lived an interesting life, but never got the chance to write that book everyone said she should. “Ro” loved the autumn weather and the pro and college football season that came with it.
A casual Celebration of Life/Memorial Service will be held at Fairmont Park Church, 10401 Belfast Rd, La Porte, TX, 77571, on Saturday, August 10th at 11:00 am. A catered lunch will be provided afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1050 N Post Oak Rd Ste 240, Houston, TX 77055, or the Alzheimer’s Association at https://www.alz.org/?form=FUNSETYDEFK.
