Roy Wayne Gunter

Roy was born on June 10, 1959 to Clifton Edward Gunter Jr and Susie Ann Groce Gunter in Houston, Texas. After graduating from West Orange High School (Orange, Texas) in 1977, he landed a job with Texas Mill Supply, kicking off a lengthy career that eventually brought him to Pasadena, Texas.

In 1991 Roy married Deborah Renee Beel Gunter in a small ceremony surrounded by close friends and family. Roy and Deborah went on to have two children together, Lisl Greer Gunter and Ian Christian Gunter, joining older brother Bradford Scott McKinney.

Roy enjoyed hard work, golf, hunting, fishing, smoking the occasional cigar, being with friends and sharing a laugh. However, he loved spending time with his children most of all. He was a professed Christian and enjoyed finding inspiration in some of his favorite Bible verses.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife Deborah Renee Gunter, his parents Clifton Edward Gunter Jr and Susie Ann Groce Gunter, sisters Elizabeth Elaine Gunter and Susan Laverne Gunter Breeden. He is survived by children Bradford Scott McKinney, Lisl Greer Gunter and Ian Christian Gunter, daughter in law Libby Calvert McKinney, grandchildren Cal Bradford McKinney and Eli James McKinney, siblings Virginia Lee Gunter Fox, Clifton Edward Gunter III, and Marion William (Bill) Gunter and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service celebrating Roy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 24th, at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Hwy in Pasadena, Texas. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
