Ruth was a member of Thomas Ave. Baptist Church in the 1950s – 1970s where she was actively involved as a Sunday school teacher, and where she taught her four children the truth of God’s word, and the importance of having a personal relationship with Jesus. She also loved to travel with friends and family, and enjoyed her membership of the Red Hat Club, and the Order of Eastern Stars local 711, in Pasadena, Texas.
Ruth graduated from Beauty School in the late 1950s and owned her own beauty shop for several years, where she met many life-long friends. She later went on to become one of Life and Casualty Insurance Company’s leading sales ladies.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, George and Myrtle Bounds, her first husband Ted Legg, second husband, Lee Roy Hardcastle, and two sons, Theodore Lincoln Legg, Jr., and Larry Kevin Legg.
