Sara Janice Favela, 71, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025. Born on January 1, 1954, in Jasper, Indiana, to Linus and Margaret Seitz, Sara lived a life full of love, devotion, and service to those around her. She was the beloved wife of Carlos Favela for 50 years.
Sara was deeply committed to her community, always eager to give back through volunteer work and acts of kindness. She was known for her vibrant spirit and loved spending time at casinos, playing lotería, and exploring local garage sales—pastimes that brought her joy and connected her with others.
In addition to her husband, Sara is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie Hernandez (Eliazar Jr.) and Christina Hernandez, and her three beloved grandchildren, C.J., Katelyn, and Ileda, who were the lights of her life. She also leaves behind her cherished sisters, Alice Rodela (Rudy) and Delores Jaramillo, along with her nieces and nephews: Nazario, Liza, Mark, Diana, Chance, and Enrique Jr.
Sara was preceded in death by her dear sister, Mary Smith (Nick).
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, as her love, laughter, and generosity touched so many. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered with fondness and love.
