She is survived by two daughters, Wendy Rutherford and husband, Randy of Mansfield, TX, and Kellie Gibbs and husband, Kenneth of Deer Park, TX; grandchildren, Marcus and wife Eileen Rutherford, Kristen Rutherford, Cade and Chase Gibbs, brothers Buck and Alvin Stewart, and several loved nieces and nephews.
As her children grew, she began working outside the home for Deer Park ISD at Carpenter Elementary. She took great pride in her job as building operator and eventually retired from a job she loved to dedicate spending more time with her grandchildren.
She was known for her kindness, generous heart and sense of humor. She loved a good story and loved to tell one. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren, and they to her. She also enjoyed holiday gatherings, cooking for family, movies, taking trips to Louisiana visiting casinos, a great cup of coffee, and spa days with daughters.
The memorial service will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Grand View Memorial Park in Deer Park.
