

Sidney Bolls Gullett passed away November 30, 2011 in Pasadena, TX. He was born on December 11, 1924 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Edward Sidney Gullet and Linnie Mae Bolls. He attended Jett High School in Mississippi and then joined the U. S. Army where he served in WWII and was a recipient of the Bronze and Silver Star. He was a member of “The Big Red One” and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He also assisted in the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp in Germany. Sidney enjoyed fishing, hunting, gambling, storytelling; he enjoyed the outdoors, and family cookout gatherings. He loved his friends and family, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it and he had a terrific sense of humor. Sidney is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Sidney and Linnie Mae Gullett; former wife, Nellie Marie Gullett; and son, Sidney Bolls Gullett, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Copeland and husband Jerry; 5 grandchildren, Sidney W. Gullett, Stephanie K. Gullett, Jeremy B. Copeland, Allison A. Gullett, and Janelle B. Copeland; Special caregiver, Toni Childers; and numerous loving family members and friends. Family will be receiving friends on Friday, December 2, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Grand View Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home with Interment to follow in Garden Park Cemetery in Conroe, TX at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
