Stephen Mitchell Johnson

Stephen Mitchell Johnson went home to be with our lord on August 5, 2025, after a courageous 5-year battle with Alzheimer’s.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Elizabeth Johnson and his two daughters, Meagan Johnson and Kelsey Johnson. Siblings, sister Lisa Johnson and brother Barry Johnson and wife Lisa Johnson. Father and Mother-in-law, Les and Marsha Langdon. Sister and Brother-in-law, Dawn and David Webb, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father James Johnson and his Mother Shirley Nunn Johnson.

Steve loved serving the lord and his church family. He went on numerous Mission Trips with the church youth group across several different states. He built dozens of wheelchair ramps for anyone that had the need and was always searching for his next project. His heart was huge, and he loved big.

Steve also had two other passions in life…art and animals. It was not uncommon for him to surprise his wife and daughters with animals he just couldn’t turn away from such as cats, birds, a rabbit, fish and his dogs. When he wasn’t working to fill Noah’s Ark, he could be found doodling in his sketchbook or creating beautiful watercolor paintings for his wife.

His gentle soul, silly spirit and loving heart will be missed deeply by any and everyone who knew him.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation with family on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Pasadena Chapel. 7500 Fairmont Pkwy, Pasadena, TX 77505. Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 AM, officiated by Dr. Jon Redmond.

Stephen Mitchell Johnson, born on June 11, 1954, in Pasadena, passed away on August 5, 2025, at the age of 71.

A visitation will be held at First Baptist Church-Pasadena, located at 7500 Fairmont Pkwy, Pasadena, TX, 77505, on August 23, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

The funeral service will follow at the same location from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
