Sue Hart Petty

Sue Petty passed from this life on April 13, 2012 in La Porte, TX surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 26, 1954 in Houston, TX, the only child of Allen and Marjorie Hart. Sue grew up in North Shore and graduated from North Shore High School in 1972. She attended Texas State University and majored in Journalism. Sue was employed with Harris County for 21 years, and for U S A for 8 years. She loved doing crafts and giving her famous "Texas Trash Boards" to her friends and family. Sue enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas. "She never saw a slot machine she didn't love." Sue took great delight in serving her community as a member of the Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo to help local students earn scholarships for college. She was a beautiful person inside and out, her memory will be cherished always.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents; and son, Jeremy Moore. She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of 18 years, David Petty; son, David Aron Petty; daughters, Mandy Myers and her husband James; Kim Vanhorne and her husband Doug; and 6 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Grand View Funeral Home on Monday, April 16, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services are scheduled to take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at First United Methodist Church La Porte, TX 9601 W. Fairmont Pkwy. La Porte, TX 77571.

In lieu of usual remembrances, memorial donations in honor of Sue may be made to the Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship Fund 7601 Red Bluff Pasadena, TX 77507.
