

Theresa was born in Marian County, Alabama, November 7, 1922, the daughter of Amos Grover Campbell and Irene (Phillips) Campbell. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands, Hollis Andrew DeFoor and John Burleson.
Theresa was a long-time resident of Houston where she was a member of Memorial Church of Christ. She also worked for Southwestern Bell, retiring in 1987. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers, Communication Workers of America, American Business Women’s Association, Houston Square and Round Dance Group, and Arabia Squares at the Arabia Shrine Temple. She enjoyed reading, traveling, music, square dancing, fishing, her garden, playing dominoes, and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include her children, daughter Julia Theresa DeFoor Jay and husband, J.L.(James) of Shoreacres; son Jerry Wayne DeFoor and wife Carole of Jersey Village; son Dale DeFoor and wife Janet of Sugar Land, daughter Andrea Elizabeth DeFoor Hitchcock and husband Philip of Greenville; and brother Amos Grover (A.G.) Campbell, Jr., of Joppa, Alabama.
Other survivors include grandchildren, J.L. (Jeff) Jay and wife Tricia of El Paso; Drew (Andrew) Wayne DeFoor and wife Carol of Katy; Denise DeFoor Guzman and husband Frank of Cypress; Christie Hitchcock Secor and husband James of Plano; Traci DeFoor and fiancé Michael Wallach of Shoreacres; great-grandchildren, Hannah and John Jay; April, Amanda, Andrew, and Katherine DeFoor; Isabella, Olivia, Sophia, and Ava Grace Guzman; great-great-grandchildren Luke Dimes and Madison DeFoor, and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Drew DeFoor, Andrew DeFoor, Frank Guzman, Michael Wallach, J.L. (Jeff) Jay, and J.L. (James) Jay.

Visitation will be Friday, May 14, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena. Services will be held Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 2:30 PM in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Grand View Memorial Park.
