Timothy “Tim” Allen Malloy - dedicated Husband, Father, Brother, Pops, and friend of many – went to his Heavenly Home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the age of 61 in Houston, Texas.
Tim was born to Bill and Bonnie (Seay) Malloy in Baytown, Texas on October 19, 1961. He attended Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas. Tim was a member of the of the Robert E. Lee Ganders football team that played for the State Championship. He was also an active member of Central Baptist Church in Baytown, Texas.
Tim worked for KBR (Brown & Root) for 20 years as a pipefitter, pipefitter foreman, and general foreman. He changed careers in 2001 and went to work for Toys R Us as an Assistant Manager. Then in 2011 he went back to the oil/gas industry with S&B Engineers & Constructors, LTD. Here colleagues quickly became like family to him and even blessed him with the title of “Jefe”.
Tim and Jennifer blended their families together and somehow made a home. Together they shared many happy times watching football games, recitals, and volleyball games. Tim was always right there to help coach from the sidelines or to do the worm during halftime at the daddy daughter dance. He loved to get out and play golf where he believed he was at the PGA making the winning shot at every hole. But his greatest thrill in life was being called Pops. He loved being a Pops and wore this Title proudly. He and Jen were able to travel all over and share so many adventures with friends and family. He was a man who never wanted to be in the spotlight but wanted to take care of things quietly behind the scenes. While we do not know who is going to step up to the plate to do laundry, guess we will just have to flip a coin to see who will clean up after family dinners.
He touched so many lives and his legacy as “The Man, The Myth, The Legend” will continue through the loved ones he’s left behind. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Malloy, his 3 children, Patrick (Katie) Anthony, Emily (Austin) Smirch, Brittney Strahan (Dustin Larson), 4 grandchildren, Jaxon Anthony, Aubree Anthony, Colton Smirch, and Connor Smirch, his brother BJ (Ceslie) Malloy, mom Bonnie Malloy, as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Bill Malloy, mother-in-law Deidre McCauley, and his Friday night football buddy, Don Delperdang.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Grandview Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, Texas 77505. Visitation will be from 10:30 – 11:00 and Memorial Service to follow at 11:00. The family will be hosting a reception for all guests at the Deer Park Community Center, 610 E. San Augustine, Room 12, Deer Park, Texas 77536, from 12:30 – 2:30
