William M. Fowler

William Madison Fowler was born, June 27, 1931 in Daingerfield, Texas. Early in his life, Bill’s family moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he attended school and graduated from Louisiana State University. (LSU). He entered the Army through ROTC and served 2 years active duty in France.

In 1955 Bill returned to Texas going to work for Shell Oil. Bill and Dorothy were married in 1956 and lived in Deer Park, Texas.

Bill is survived by his wife Dorothy; sons: Keith and wife Carla; Kent and wife Sheila; Kris and wife Donna. Grandchildren; Kent W. Fowler Jr, Kolton J. Fowler, Kara N. Fowler and great-grandson, Korbyn J. Fowler.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, James David Fowler; mother Myrtle B. Fowler; sister Irma Jean Browning; and grandson Jeremy Dwayne Fowler.

Bill retired from Shell Oil in June 1987 after working there for 32 years. His family was a big part of his life. Having the family around brought great joy to him.

Bill and Dorothy celebrated 61 years of marriage this year. He will be greatly missed.

Services will be Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Grand View Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10:00AM to 11:00AM with funeral service at 11:00AM officiated by Rev. Paul Kethley. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
