Obituary of MSG Billy Ray Richardson
MSG Billy Ray Richardson was born on December 30, 1968 in Midland, Texas. He was raised by his grandmother, Virgie Mae Lacy. Billy was married to the love of his life, Alyse Fortune Richardson. They shared a life together that was full of love, laughter, travel, and fun. His daughter Kiara Richardson was the apple of his eye. He was so proud of her and all her accomplishments. Billy graduated from Midland High School and attended Texas A&M University where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration. Billy worked in the Texas Military Department for over 27 years, with deployments to Desert Fox, Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Operation Iraq Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom. He had a brilliant career with the Army National Guard, receiving many accreditations and having many accomplishments. His last role at Camp Mabry was working in the Resource Management Section (NCOIC). To know Billy was to love Billy. He knew so many people and had so many friends. He lit up a room when he walked into it. That laugh of his was contagious. He was known as Uncle Billy to so many children. His love for all was evident. Billy truly loved to cheer on his favorite football team, the Aggies while sporting one of his many Aggie hats. Billy is survived by his wife Alyse Fortune Richardson, daughter Kiara Richardson, uncle Harold Lacy and wife Claudia Lacy, mother-in-law Leila Fortune, brother Fred Jones, sister Alexis Henderson, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and colleagues. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Virgie Mae Lacy. Funeral Services will be at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home and Cemetery. The viewing will be Friday November 5, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and the service will be Saturday November 6, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. followed by full Military Honors Service at Burial Site.
