

She was born on August 21st, 1950, to Patsy and Eugene Bradfute in Corpus Christi Texas. Cathey graduated from Tivy High School in 1968 with a passion for being a twirler and shared many great stories of her time and skills with a baton. Cathey went on to study at Schreiner University graduating in the class of 1970. Cathey worked at as a secretary at the River Road Baptist Church for many years, taught English, and worked as an Avon Representative. Cathey worked for The Abbey Mansion, kickstarting a career in photography and wedding coordinating. For more than 20 years Cathey brought so much beauty and joy to those she worked with showcasing her passion for party planning and event coordinating. Following her retirement from The Abbey, her love for decorating, creating beauty, and entertainment continued through the love of a great party with family and friends by bringing all her loved ones together and creating so many long-lasting memories. Throughout her joyous life, even in her final days, her smile would light up a room and bring joy to those around her.
Cathey married Charles Bruce Stubblefield in 1974 and had two children, Dustin and Dylan Stubblefield in 1980 and 1981 and shared 27 years of memories together before he fell ill and lost his battle with cancer in January of 2001.
Cathey was introduced to her husband Tim Clark at the Moose Lodge in Copperas Cove Texas by her brother Duey Bradfute and sister-in-law, Kelly Bradfute. Tim proposed shortly after at the A Stop Gas Station and they were married on August 21st, 2004. She went on to create a private venue on their land that was and will forever be known as “Backporch Texas” where she hosted not only her wedding to Tim, but the weddings of both her children and numerous nephews and countless parties and celebrations. Cathey and Tim enjoyed 22 years of wonderful memories at Backporch Texas.
Cathey was predeceased in death by Pat and Eugene Bradfute, Bobby Towle, Bruce Stubblefield, Larry Bradfute, and numerous other Bradfute uncles that were near and dear to her.
She is survived by her husband, Tim Clark, children, Dustin & (Jessica) Stubblefield and Dylan & (Melinda) Stubblefield. Grandchildren, Ethan Stubblefield, Avia Stubblefield, Colton Stubblefield, and Case Stubblefield, and brother, Duey & (Kelly) Bradfute.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville on June 14, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
