

At the age of 15, Charles was baptized into Christ and remained a faithful Christian until his death. He taught the Bible to his family and anyone else who would listen. He volunteered his time, talents and muscles to assist several Churches of Christ in the Austin area. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Pflugerville.
Charles began working at age 17 as a heavy equipment operator building roads and airports throughout Texas. He proudly served his country in the US Navy as a Petty Officer First Class during WWII, as a Tech Sergeant in the National Guard after the war. The last 30 years before retirement he worked for the Air Force Civil Engineers, at Bergstrom Air Force Base, where he retired as Deputy Chief of Operations in Civil Engineering.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Olga Laake Brady, and his daughter, Valaska Burkland. He is survived by three sons, Charles T. Brady, Jr. and wife, Janice; Harry D. Brady; and Bobby G. Brady and wife, Brenda; granddaughters: Lorraine Brady, Holly Brady and Lindsay Brady; grandsons: Charles T. Brady, III and wife, Lori; Chris Brady and wife, Tammy, and Zachary Brady; great-grandchildren: Charles T. Brady, IV, Paige Brady, Garrett McGathy, Gracyn McGathy, Meagan Brady and Jackson Brady; sister, Rose Turnbull; brothers: Thomas Brady and James Brady. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Charles lived a long and fruitful life, having a lasting impact on everyone who met him. We will all miss an honorable man.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Cook Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
