Frances De La Cruz Gonzales

We celebrate the life of Frances Gonzales, the matriarch of many names, the heart of one family at age 92, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 30, 2026. Mrs. Gonzales is a long-time member of Santa Julia Catholic Church and a lifelong resident of Austin, Texas where she lived well, laughed often, loved much and leaves this world better than she found it.

Frances married Pete L. Gonzales and together they shared three children, Mary Helen, Estella and Daniel. Mrs. Gonzales leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and compassion that lives on in all of us.

She was preceded in death by her husband Pete L. Gonzales; her son, Daniel “Boone” Gonzales; her parents, Reyes De La Cruz and Ester G. De La Cruz; her siblings, Angel De La Cruz, Gilbert De La Cruz, Fidel "Billy" De La Cruz, Pete De La Cruz, Rudy De La Cruz, Esther De La Cruz and Rosalinda Reyna.

Frances is survived by her daughters, Mary Helen Valdez (Arturo) and Estella Rodriguez (Rudy); grandchildren, Marcelina Perez (Eugene), Adelina Fuentes (Samuel), Anissa Dungan (Arthur), Tommy Daniel Gonzales and Elena Arias (Matthew); great-grandchildren, Emilia Perez, Lola Dungan, Arthur Q. Dungan, Giana Arias and Diego Arias; sisters, Irene De La Cruz and Linda De La Cruz; sisters-in-law, Carrie De La Cruz and Gloria Jean Ramos; brother-in-law, Jesse Reyna.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 6:00pm to 7:00pm with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00pm. A funeral service and internment to follow on Monday, September 7, 2026, at 10:00am. All services will be provided by Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 14501 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.

Honoring Mrs. Gonzales as pallbearers will be Eugene Perez, Samuel Fuentes, Arthur Dungan, Matthew Arias, Robert Wilson, and Gilbert De La Cruz.
