He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on December 4, 1944 to Hosea Boswell Sr. and Eula Mae (McCalope) Boswell. Hosea graduated from Lincoln High School and attended Prairie View A & M University until he joined the United States Air Force. He married Gladys Edwards Boswell on September 30, 1967. Hosea worked in Corporate Fleet Safety for the Kerrville Bus Company. He was an Honorary DPS Officer and was a member of the American Legion, the Progressive Insurance Safety Board and the LBJ Presidential Medical Team. He enjoyed political science, civic events, music and movies.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Gladys Boswell; son, David Boswell; daughters, Bridget Boswell-Muntz and Jennifer Boswell Martinez; grandchildren, Jarod King, Bryson Boswell and Ethan Boswell; and his sister, Theresa Prater.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. A funeral service honoring Hosea’s life will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the funeral home chapel. He will be laid to rest with military honors at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
