A retired city of Austin employee of 31 years, Johnny carried himself with quiet strength, and a deep sense of responsibility—qualities that left a lasting impression on family and friends alike.
Johnny had a generous heart, and a work ethic that spoke louder than words. He enjoyed music, watching ice road truckers and cowboy movies. He was a collector of many unique items, and his biggest hobby was spending time outside in his front yard working on endless projects.
He was preceded in death by his parents Crecensio Acosta, and Cruz de la Luz Seguin.
Johnny is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Mary Acosta; his sons, Mark Acosta (Rebecca Acosta) and Michael Acosta (Martha Acosta); and his daughters, Monica Acosta (Eliseo Perez) and Stephanie Acosta. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Monique Perez, Jazmine Acosta, Mark Myles Acosta, Vanessa Acosta, John Michael Acosta, Haylee Perez, and Christopher Acosta, and by his great grandchildren Xavier Sanchez, Trae Perez Rocero, Kaiden Sanchez, Tarentino Rocero, Terez Perez Rocero, Gabriel Martinez, Khali Rodriguez, and Tianna Perez Rocero. He is also survived by his siblings Marylou Gonzalez, Andrew Acosta, Jerry Acosta (Joyce Acosta), and Ana Maria Villarreal (Jacob Villarreal).
Johnny will be remembered with deep respect, and enduring affection by all who had the privilege to know him. We are very grateful for all the memories, lessons, loyalty, and unconditional love he gave us.
