Mary Francis (Marilyn) Allison passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on August 7, 2024, surrounded by her loving family and caregivers. She was born on January 30, 1933 in Austin, Texas at home to German immigrants, Mamie & Fritz Homeyer. She spent her childhood on a farm outside Austin til the age of 13 when the highway dept. took their land to build Interstate 35 and they moved into Austin. She married Harvey Allison in 1949. They raised their family in Dallas. In September, they would have celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary.
Marilyn (AKA Nanny) loved to play bingo, go bowling, read books, play checkers and dance the polka. Her greatest thrill was searching for treasures at garage sales, and finding the perfect items to make sure each member of her large family had a very unique and special Christmas Box under the tree, served along with her famous crab dip. Her unique ability to stretch a dollar was beyond comparison. She ended each day with The Lord’s Prayer.
Marilyn and Harvey moved to Boerne in 2020 to reside at the Top of the Hill RV Park and Resort, which they had purchased for retirement.
Survived by her husband, Harvey Allison, daughters Linda Carlton & Dian Turner, son David and daughter-in law Claudia Allison, and son Gary Allison and Norma Jean Massudi, brother-in-law Bobby Allison, sister-in-law Laura Homeyer, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
The Allison family would like to send out a special thank you to Nanny’s amazing, compassionate & devoted Caregivers… Brenda Pruitt, Caylie Triplett, Ada Sandoval, and Cathy Dugosh who never wavered from giving her excellent care the final years of her life.
Services will be held at Cook-Walden Capital Park Cemetery, Austin, Texas in the main funeral home on
