

Born on November 10,1929, in Nassau County, New York, she was the daughter of Lonnie Ellis and Charlotte McCall Dill. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Eloise, Audrey and Doris; her brother Richard Dill; her foster parents Olga and John Lutz of Hicksville, New York; and her beloved husband, Edward George Von Gerichten.
Mary worked for Fairchild Controls in Hicksville, New York, for 17 years and later for IBM in Austin for 23 years, retiring in 1992.
She is survived by her brother Donald Dill of Ludlow, Vermont; nieces Linda Gabrinowitz and Darleen O’Toole Sheuling, nephew John Fabricatore, great-nephews Louis and Alan Fabricatore and Sonya Fabricatore.
Mary enjoyed a decades long friendship with Mary and Bob Barringer until their deaths and continued a close relationship with their children, David Barringer, Linda Boline and Carolyn Blanchard. Mary enjoyed genealogy research, traveling, playing the organ, yard work and staying connected with her friends from IBM and Sun City.
Serving as pall bearers are Louis and Alan Fabricatore, Danny and Andy and Matthew Barringer, Chris Danielson and Steve Boline.
Though she will be deeply missed, her love, laughter and generous spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville with a time of visitation held one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
Following the burial service, a reception will be held in the Capitol Room of the funeral home.
