He attended Smithville Public Schools as well as Austin Public Schools. Morris attended Grant Chapel A.M.E. Church.
His family includes his mother Bessie Patridge Brown, father Oughtly Denmon, brother Lonnie Brown and wife Mae of Austin, Texas, former wife and dear friend Alice Brown along with a host of relatives and friends.
