Nguyen Duc Nhan passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at age 103. He was active until the last week of his life, living -- as he had for nearly 22 years taking long walks around the neighborhood every afternoon.
He was born October 04, 1912 in Ngoc Chau village, Hung Yen province, Vietnam. He married Nguyen, Van Thi on January 27, 1937. He lived in many different places -- including Hung Yen, Tan Mai - Bien Hoa. He came to America in 1990 to Grand Rapids, Michigan before settling in Austin, Texas in 1993.
He is survived by four daughters, Nhan Nguyen and her husband Dinh Tran, Nhan Nguyen, Ba Nguyen and Tam Nguyen and her husband. Duc Nhan had 27 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, daughter, four sons and one grandson.
Services will be held from 2 pm - 6 pm on Friday, December 18, at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North IH-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660. Burial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 19 at 10 am at Holy Vietnamese Martyrs Church. Relatives and friends are welcome at the service and the reception at the church's hall immediately following the burial service.
