It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Orlando Oel Trevino, a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, who was called home on August 31, 2026, at the age of 51.
Orlando was born on November 22, 1974, in Kingsville, Texas. He later made his way to the Austin area, where he built his life, raised his family, made lifelong friendships, and created countless memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved him.
To know Orlando was to know someone with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He had a lively spirit, a quick wit, and a way of bringing warmth and laughter wherever he went. He never had to pretend to be anyone other than himself. Orlando was simply Orlando—genuine, intelligent, hardworking, loving, and full of life. His presence could fill a room, and his absence will be deeply felt.
Above all else, Orlando was a devoted father and grandfather. His children and grandchildren were among the greatest joys of his life. He found happiness in caring for them, spending time with them, making memories, and simply being there. The love he had for his family was evident in the way he showed up for the people he cared about. His family will carry that love with them always.
Orlando had many things he enjoyed in life. He loved firing up the grill, listening to music, fishing, laughing with friends, and gathering with family. Some of the most meaningful memories of Orlando will undoubtedly be found in those simple moments—good food, good music, stories, laughter, and the people he loved gathered around him.
He was also admired for his strong work ethic and determination. Orlando believed in working hard and taking care of the people who mattered to him. His strength, intelligence, generosity, and authenticity left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
Orlando was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Isabelle V. Cerda; grandfather, Manuel Trevino; father, Antonio Montoya; aunt, Edna Trevino; uncle, Manuel Trevino Jr.; sister, Belinda Montoya; and nephew, Jose Angel Garcia.
Orlando leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and a lifetime of memories that will never fade. He is survived by his children, Maricela (Oniel) Thomas, Evelyn Trevino, Orlando Trevino Jr., Joshua Trevino, and Sophia Trevino; his grandchildren, Elina Morris, Gabriela Thomas, Joshua Trevino Jr., Elianna Trevino, Elessandra Corona, and Matthias Thomas; his mother, Ester Sosa; and his siblings, Michael Orona, Dominika Sosa, Edna (Adrian) Antonio, Marissa (Jorge) Perez, Patricia Montoya, Michelle Montoya, Consuelo Hernandez, Daniel Montoya, and Jose Montoya.
Although our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that Orlando’s life was filled with love. His laughter, his stories, his kindness, his hard work, his love of family, and all the little things that made him who he was will continue to live on through the people he loved.
He may no longer be here for us to see, hear, or hold, but the love he gave us cannot be taken away. Every family gathering, every song, every fishing trip, every barbecue, and every shared laugh will carry a piece of Orlando with us.
His life was a gift. His memory is a treasure. His love will remain forever.
