

Sandy E. Johnson of the City of Lago Vista and Austin, TX, passed away on Saturday, June 13th, 2026, at the age of 78. She was born on July 14th, 1947, in Newport News, VA, where she grew up on the U.S. Army Base, Fort Eustis, which later merged with Langley Air Force Base to become Joint Base Langley–Eustis. Sandy’s parents then moved to the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, NYC, NY.
Sandy worked as a Security Investigator working with a Top Secret Clearance at several government agencies located in Bowie, MD, and Washington, DC.
She was also actively involved in the Jonestown Community Center as an advocate and friend; hobbies include painting and gardening; specialty job as a grandmother and babysitter. Sandy loved going to the casino but never knew how to leave it. She had a deep love for all pets, especially her CATS; she took it upon herself to care for strays, making sure to get them spayed or neutered before releasing them back into the neighborhood.
Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Sharpe-Holman and Bland Holman; spouse, Clarence Johnson; brother, Troy Holman; daughter, Elizabeth Figueroa; and grandsons, Michael and Dexter Figueroa.
She is survived by her spouse, Teddy Figueroa; daughter, Angel Figueroa; son-in-law Miguel Figueroa; son-in-law Jerry Hooper; grandsons Alex Figueroa-Hooper and Josef Figueroa-Hooper, Brandon Figueroa; great-grandson Michael Figueroa, Jr.; great-granddaughter Braelynn Figueroa; sister-in-law Carol Holman; nephew, Troy Holman, Jr.; nieces, Leila Holman-Cruz and Lauren Holman-Francis; cherished friends, Sheri Henson-Wallace and Joyce Johnson; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to thank Park Valley Nursing Home for the care and compassion they showed Sandy in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Sandy’s life as we say our final goodbyes at Cook-Walden Capitol Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate Highway 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660, on Sunday, July 5th, 2026, at 2:00 pm CST. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 pm.
