Steven was one of those people who brought his own unmistakable personality wherever he went. From an early age, he had a unique sense of humor, a quick wit, and a healthy dose of sarcasm that could catch you off guard and leave you laughing. He had a way of making people smile, often when they least expected it, and those who knew him best will undoubtedly have their own favorite “Steven” story to tell. He didn't always have to say much to make an impression—and sometimes what he did say was enough to make everyone in the room laugh. His humor was uniquely his own, and it will be deeply missed.
Steven loved life and the things that made it enjoyable. He was an avid sports fan of the San Diego Padres, Texas Longhorns, and the (San Diego, in our hearts) Chargers. He loved being near the beach, enjoying the California coast and the simple peace that came with being near the ocean. The time he spent with the people closest to him was among the most meaningful parts of his life. He loved traveling and seeing live music with family and his lifelong friend group who shared the motto: “to life.” A reminder to seek out joy and adventure.
But more than any team, place, or pastime, Steven loved his family and friends. He was a beloved husband to Morgan Moses Sierra; father to Brianna Sierra and Alyssa Sierra Martinez; son to Olga Patino, Lupe Patino, Marcelino Sierra, and Carime Sierra; brother to Michael Sierra, Sandra Sierra (in-law), Crystal Martinez, Karina Sierra, and Ricky Sierra; dog dad to Koda and Scribbles; as well as a cherished nephew, cousin, and friend. Those closest to him will forever cherish the conversations, laughter, stories, inside jokes, and ordinary moments that, looking back, became some of the most extraordinary memories.
Steven’s journey was met with tremendous love and support from his family, friends, and coworkers at Cirrus Logic and Penguin Solutions where he worked as a celebrated trade compliance and logistics professional. His loved ones remained by his side, doing everything possible to keep him comfortable, surrounded by the people he loved, and reminded of how deeply he mattered to them. The family is especially grateful to everyone who supported Steven throughout his life and to those who surrounded him and his family with love, kindness, and encouragement during his final days.
Each person who knew Steven carries a different memory of him, but together those memories tell the story of a man who was deeply loved and whose presence made a lasting impression. Although his family will deeply miss him, they will forever be grateful for the time they were given —the laughter, the conversations, the adventures, the sarcasm, and all the little moments that made Steven who he was.
He may no longer be here to cheer for the Padres, defend the Longhorns, feel frustration with the Chargers, enjoy the beach, or give someone a perfectly timed sarcastic comment, but the memories he created will remain.
Steven will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
Lastly, we’d like to share a quote from Steven's favorite author, Dean Koontz:
“No one's life should be rooted in fear. We are born for wonder, for joy, for hope, for love, to marvel at the mystery of existence, to be ravished by the beauty of the world, to seek truth and meaning, to acquire wisdom, and by our treatment of others to brighten the corner where we are.”
Public Visitation will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660, US, on September 27, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at the same location from 3:00 pm to 3:40 pm.
