

Virgil Lionel Wilson of Austin, Texas passed away on Tuesday July 21, 2026, at the age of 60. He was born on November 16, 1966, in Austin, Texas. Virgil grew up in multiple countries due to his father being enlisted in the US Airforce and the frequent moves to different duty stations.
Virgil Graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts in 1989.
Virgil enlisted in the US Airforce in November 1991 as a Signals Intelligence Analyst. Job duties include operating electronic equipment and computer systems to exploit signal intelligence, manipulates and extracts intelligence data from electromagnetic emissions, and updates national databases with findings. Virgil was discharged from the military in 1993 and always pursued his dream in opening a business and preaching the word of God.
Virgil was a devoted member of High Point Baptist Church. He was known for his warm smile, encouraging words, and willingness to help anyone in need. His faith was not just something he spoke about—it was something he lived daily, inspiring those around him to trust in God’s goodness.
Preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Nell Wilson and Youngest Brother Roy Wilson Jr.
Survived by his Father Roy Wilson Sr, Brothers Lawrence Wilson, and Kenneth Wilson. Sister Terri Young. His Nephews: Christopher, Jermaine, James, Javarius, Lawrence Jr, Roy III, and Kenneth Jr. His Nieces: Katija, Yolanda, Andrea, Stephanie, Christina, and Jalisa.
Visitation will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660, US, on August 21, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location on August 21, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660, US, on August 21, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
