

Zachary “Zac” Alan French, of Round Rock, Texas passed away on Saturday, May 30th, 2026 at the age of 44. Zac was born on October 29, 1981 in Austin, Texas and grew up in Bastrop, Texas with his father, Dorwin, mother, Debra, and sister, Jennifer.
Zac graduated from Bastrop High School in 2000, and briefly attended Southwest Texas State University, now Texas State.
On April 13, 2012, Zac became a father to his son, Blakely. Zac often spoke about how proud Blakely made him, and what an amazing young man he is growing to be.
In September 2007, Zac was hired on with the Round Rock Fire Department and worked as a Fire Fighter until he was promoted to Driver in 2011. During his nineteen-year career with RRFD, Zac was a part of the Haz-Mat Team, the Rescue Team, and the Wildland Team. Zac enjoyed teaching new fire cadets in the academy and was active in the Round Rock Truck School. He was often known for his immaculate cleaning abilities and his exquisite ability to organize. Zac was known as “Frenche” by those he worked closest with. Zac was an active member in the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 3082.
Zac’s favorite hobbies were working out and woodworking. Zac was widely known for his beautifully handcrafted decorative wooden flags and challenge coin holders and could often be found in his garage workshop making these pieces of art for friends.
Zac is preceded in death by his father, Dorwin French; grandparents, Bryson Sr. and Wilma French; and grandparents H.L. and Lerah Robinson.
Zac is survived by his wife, Shelby Ingles; son, Blakely French; mother, Debra French; sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Skeeter Rucker; nephews, Garrett and Avery French; niece, Breanna French; great-niece, Ariyah Clemons; and numerous extended family members, friends, and coworkers.
The family would like to thank personnel from the Williamson County Sheriffs Department, Williamson County Emergency Medical Services, and the Sam Bass Fire Department, along with medical personnel from Round Rock St. David’s Hospital for the care and compassion they showed Zac.
Family and friends are invited to attend Zac’s funeral service, which will be held on Friday, June 5th, 2026, at 11:00 am, at First United Methodist Church, 1004 N. Mays St., Round Rock, Texas.
