Aurora is survived by daughter Rebecca Echazarreta; daughter Mary Echazarreta Chavez (Alfredo); daughter Ramona Echazarreta; daughter Ruby Echazarreta; son Jose Romulo Echazarreta (Josette); and son Rafael Echazarreta (Ludy) And 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and a sister Margarita Leal as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Aurora was preceded in death by son Ramiro Echazarreta and daughter Teresa Echazarreta; and her parents Jesus Leal Ayala and Josefina Santana Leal.
Although Aurora was born in Mexico, she spent most of her life in the United States, specifically, in Pharr, Texas where she dedicated herself to serving the Lord. She was a devout catholic and longtime member of the church. She and a group of catholic women committed 15 years of their life to collect funds to build the church St. Frances Xavier Cabrini in Pharr, Texas. In those years, they made a lot of charities to raise funds and all proceeds went to build the new church. Aurora was a member of the church choir and would volunteer in the food banks was also a volunteer with Mujeres Unidas at Casa Maria in Pharr, Texas. Aurora would also contribute to the children of Unicef.
Aurora was recognized by the Club Del Seminario giving her continues support to aspire the ordinance of priest in the congregation of Oblatos de Maria Inmaculada of San Antonio, Texas.
Aurora loved to spend time with her family, her morning coffee and watching novelas. Aurora was known to give a helping hand and have a listening ear, always ending each conversation with good advice and her blessing. She will be remembered by her good sense of humor, her friendliness and her kind heart.
Aurora was an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Aurora leaves behind hers a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Aurora Echazarreta.
A visitation for Aurora will be held Friday, August 28, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Her chapel service will occur Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley with her interment to follow will occur Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens of Pharr.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley of Pharr.
To comply with our county mandate all guests who enter the building must wear a facial covering or mask at all times while in the building and social distancing will be enforced. The capacity of guest in the chapel will be a maximum of 40.
