Born on September 5, 1940, in Mexico, Bertha grew up surrounded by faith, family, and tradition which were values she carried lovingly throughout her life. A devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, her greatest joy came from caring for her family and ensuring the well-being of her sons.
Bertha had a lighthearted spirit and a warm sense of joy. She loved watching her favorite novelas and classic shows like El Chavo, La Rosa de Guadalupe, and Como Se Dice El Dicho. She delighted in singing Christian songs, listening to the Word of Christ, and enjoying her favorite foods—migas con huevo, barbacoa, and chicharrones. She found simple pleasures in shopping, bird watching, and spending time with her beloved companion, La Chiquiya.
Bertha is survived by her loving sons Santos Santana and family, Alfredo Santana and family, and Jose E. Santana and family; her sisters Rebecca Sanchez and Guadalupe Garcia; and her cherished grandchildren Liliana, Rosita, Santos Santana, Monica Rodriguez, Miranda, Maya Santana, and Alfredo Santana Jr.
She is preceded in death by her husband Santos Santana; her son Jesus Santana; her parents Pedro Rodriguez Ruiz and Jacinta Sanchez; her brothers Salvador Santana and Alfredo Rodriguez and her sister Carmela Velez (Rodriguez).
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bertha’s life during visitation on December 1, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, TX 78577.
A Chapel Service will be held on December 2, 2025, at 10:00 am at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, followed by burial at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens, 4607 N Sugar Rd, Pharr, TX 78577, at 11:00 am.
Bertha’s unwavering love, her faith-filled heart, and her gentle presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
